Staging your home for an Open House!

If you want to sell your home, but you are clueless about how to stage it, in other words; how to show it presentable and beautiful for the future home buyers.  Let me give you a few tips; I'm sure you will be more confident after reading this blog.

It's not a secret how much a professional stager charges for a room/house; if you have the money, do it! But if you don't feel like spending a couple of thousands of dollars, I'm sure you can do a pretty decent job yourself!

Now, start with the basic. Make sure you hide or store all your personal belongings; you want to the people that walk into your house can see themselves living in it. For this to happen, your home should not be infused with the distinctive sights, sound, and feeling of your particular family.

Ask yourself: What is the first impression you want your home to be? Spotless, right? Three important things:

  1.  Remove all your personal belongings.
  2.  Clean your home. Really clean!!
  3.  Get rid of smells of food, pets or smoke.

Now, let's stage! It's the time for a trip to your local vintage store; you don't have to buy a bunch of things, remember, less is more. Have in mind; accent furniture can do wonders! You can use that sofa that it's been hidden in the garage for ages, add one or two accents pillows and see the final result...trust me; it will make a huge difference!

Kitchen & Bathroom: Clean all the cabinets and countertops. In the bathroom, you can leave the daily essentials, maybe buy some decor towels and shower curtains and light on a couple of candles. As with the bathroom, a well-styled kitchen can leave an excellent impression on the future home buyer. A beautiful and functional kitchen adds a wow factor that can sell a home.

So, there you go, now you are ready to sell your home! I'm confident, you are going to have a successful open house. Don't forget we are always here to help you in every step of the way!
